The Municipal District of Opportunity No.17 is seeking to fill a Permanent Full Time Manager of Children’s Services position to oversee all childcare programs.


Job Summary:

Reporting to the MD of Opportunity CAO, this position requires an individual who is outgoing and energetic with demonstrated child care leadership, management and public relations skills.  This position includes both administrative and supervision functions.


Position Outline:

  • Ensure the planning and implementation of a high quality early learning and child care services program that meets MD policy and Accreditation Standards for children
  • Budget preparation and monitoring
  •  Staff, compliance and grant administration
  • Professional Development planning and monitoring
  • Supervision to ensure all regulations and Accreditation Standards are met.



  • Bachelor of Social Work Degree desired.
  • Child Development Supervisor certificate or equivalent * (formerly Level 3.
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License; reliable transportation.


*Child Development Supervisor equivalent level of training: Alberta Permanent Teaching Certificate; Education Degree; Child and Youth Care Diploma or Degree; Early Learning and Child Care Diploma;
