PLEASE BE ADVISED THERE IS ONE ACTIVE CASE ON BIGSTONE CREE NATION AS OF SEPTEMBER 30, 2020

When someone is notified they have tested positive, they have to legally self isolate.  Contact tracing will happen and all those contacted need to follow the Public Health Measures. The privacy laws are to protect people and we want to ensure we do all that we can to assist these cases and their privacy is respected.  

The contact tracing will be done immediately and those that have been possibly exposed will be contacted and will receive instructions to self-isolate and get tested. It is very important to stay home and stay away from others.

PLEASE REMEMBER TO PREVENT THE SPREAD OF COVID-19:

  • IF YOU ARE NOT FEELING WELL (COUGH, FEVER, SHORTNESS OF BREATH, RUNNY NOSE OR SORE THROAT) IT IS RECOMMENDED YOU SCHEDULE A COVID-19 TEST and STAY HOME.
  • WEAR A MASK
  • WASH HANDS OFTEN
  • PRACTICE SOCIAL DISTANCING AND MINIMIZE SOCIAL GATHERINGS
  • STAY HOME AND LIMIT THE AMOUNT OF TIME YOU GO OUT

This will help keep you, your family members, Elders, vulnerable population and the community stay safe. ONLY THOSE WITH SYMPTOMS OR HAVE BEEN CONTACTED TO GET TESTED CAN SCHEDULE A TEST. RECOMMENDATIONS FROM AHS and HEALTH CANADA IS TO NO LONGER TEST THOSE WITH NO SYMPTOMS.

We want to thank the community for all your efforts by following the current Bylaws and public health measures over the past several months. We need to keep following these measures and only by our own actions we can help stop the spread of COVID-19.
